Dust and haze is an invisible threat to sensitive equipment and instruments found in data centres, server rooms, telecommunications shelters and other critical infrastructure sites. It can also be harmful to human health.

The airconditioning units typically found in critical infrastructure sites like server rooms and data centres will ideally purify the air and keep it relatively dust-free. However, higher than normal levels of dust and particulate pollution caused by fossil fuel burning or bushfires can overwhelm your HVAC system, leading to dangerously high levels of dust. These fine particles can deposit on circuit boards, causing damage.

Additionally, dust can present a health hazard to people, particularly those working in confined spaces found in the construction, manufacturing and mining industry. Our sensors can be easily deployed to give an early warning of airborne dust reaching levels that can cause short and longterm respiratory problems.

With a detection range of 0 to 0.5 mg/m³ and a sensitivity of 0.1 mg/m³, the ServersCheck optical dust sensor can be deployed in multiples to ensure adherence with best practice international standards regarding air quality in data centres (e.g. ASHRAE TC9 and ISO 14644).
