Providing essential monitoring to prevent meltdowns
- Critical monitoring to prevent meltdowns
- Precise to 0.1°C
- Simple plug & play activation
The external temperature monitoring sensor builds upon the SensorGateway's in-built temperature sensing capability, providing scope for comprehensive monitoring of critical infrastructure like server rooms against the crucial parameter of temperature, particularly excess heat.
A simple setup could involve a single base unit SensorGateway with two external temperature sensors attached to it, providing temperature monitoring at three points on a server rack.
Best practice states that at rack level, as a minimum temperature probes should monitor the infrastructure at the point of cooling entry (bottom of rack for room or floor cooling, top of rack for top cooling) and the hottest point -- the top back of the rack. The difference between intake and outtake temperature should never exceed 20°C.
